Returning to his French roots in Paris, New-York based artist WK Interact is apparently back at it with another boss-like composition mural for D-Day and its 70th Anniversary.
Coming around for the second time, ARTELPHX is proving itself to be a worthwhile experience for the local art-seekers. Debuting in September 2013, ARTELPHX 2014 is slated as the world’s largest independent hotel art installation show, and the community is certainly turning their attention to what’s being held right in their own backyard.
From small pieces of paper to life-size murals, Spanish artist Pejac seems to have found a comfortable style in turning a simple silhouette image, into an amazing site-specific piece of art.
For the artists and the enthusiasts looking to come together in a major way, Art Detour 26 laid out the welcome mat and left the door wide open. With over 100 spaces, including working artist studios, unique art spaces, galleries, cultural venues, restaurants and retailers opening their doors for the weekend, the events 26 year anniversary was a 2-day artistic treat for the community.
Built up to the highest degree in the local Phoenix art community, this months First Friday was something special for the art junkies in the city. And if you don’t know what First Friday is, let me fill you in.
For as many new artists I meet and talk to as I go to all these exhibits and art galleries, I always seem to notice that the best ones tend to pay a little more attention to detail than the others. Whether it be precision or creative madness, the details show your skill. These illustrated sketches by Salvador Dalí might be a throwback, but they are prime examples of just that.
Like anybody that finds an environment they truly enjoy being around, I think I’ve found something special at the RAW Artists Phoenix Showcases. Not only do the shows continue to inspire me and connect me with a great group of artists that are sincerely passionate about what they do, it motivates me to do the same.

With a new LEGO movie set to hit theaters in February, I’m not surprised to see a huge collection of new LEGO inspired projects hitting the scene in the next couple weeks. The latest to surface is a collection of Famous Album Covers recreated with LEGO pieces and I think you might recognize a couple.
Apparently a couple of months in the making, Library Street Collective’s massive street art endeavor, the Z Project, opened to the public yesterday (January 6th) in Detroit.
