After great success with his most recent collection Could You Relate?, Mark Reed Jr. has decided to treat his fans and supporters with a brand new collection of poetry entitled Puzzles.

There is nothing about a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly… 

But you can tell when a butterfly was once a caterpillar.

An army of legs, held down by the use of simple directions, left, right, forward and backward,

But not anymore.

On July 28th 2014, the creators of Brave Wings held their 2nd Annual Fashion Show with the hopes of raising money and highlighting the nights associated charity, Ryan House.

Marking the exact day that 2014 is essentially half way over and before I look to what’s coming in the future, I wanted to take a look back at some of the cool experiences from the year so far.

Highly anticipated within the TDE community, today Ab-Soul has finally released his long-awaited return album to 2012’s hidden gem Control System. Pieced and crafted together perfectly, These Days… is a just another example of the rapping skills Ab-Soul possesses and the creativity that goes along with it.

Returning to his French roots in Paris, New-York based artist WK Interact is apparently back at it with another boss-like composition mural for D-Day and its 70th Anniversary.

On June 13, 2014 I had the pleasure of being in attendance as Phoenix Fashion Week introduced their 14 new Emerging Designers showing in Fashion Week later this fall.

To the misfortune of the world, we lost a beautiful soul today. Poet and Cultural Leader, Dr. Maya Angelou.

I just so happen to wake up this morning with a text message bearing the disheartening news. And with the day continuing on, I could tell I wasn’t the only one feeling a little bummed out.

In typical fashion, RAW Artists Phoenix’s most recent showcase Revolution is just another example of the artistic platform RAW looks to expand on in featuring these up and coming artists.

Coming around for the second time, ARTELPHX is proving itself to be a worthwhile experience for the local art-seekers. Debuting in September 2013, ARTELPHX 2014 is slated as the world’s largest independent hotel art installation show, and the community is certainly turning their attention to what’s being held right in their own backyard.
