The ever-growing in popularity Fred Tieken shows off his creative and colorful outlook in his most recent art exhibit, For The Birds.
Known about and first exposed to Fred and his very distinctive artwork at ARTELPHX, a huge installation showcase at the Clarendon Hotel, I still can’t turn away from his colorful and impressionistic work. Full of life and character, each piece is its own created scene. Focused on the birds and their point of view, I draw a connection that maybe they’re meant to represent us as humans. The way we search for excitement, the way look to be accepted, the way we stick together, and the way we makes mistakes.
Fred’s work does more than just symbolize the creative muse of nearly losing his wife and working through it to create masterful artwork, it shows that anyones impression can have style. The use of broken lines, random colors, and odd shapes doesn’t have to be viewed as perfect, as long as it’s cohesive and merged together with a purpose, I think a message can be received… Good Job Fred!
Enjoy!
